About Us

At Peak Northern Kennels, we are passionate about Alaskan Malamutes, the magnificent breed that has captured our hearts. We are a very small family operated breeder run by Chris and Melissa Ohlmann along with their three kids.  Ideally situated on the outskirts of Calgary, AB, our dogs regularly get out to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful scenery the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains have to offer.

Our dogs are first and foremost our family pets, and we treat them with the love, respect, and care any family member deserves. We only breed occasionally, so we can focus on the health and well-being of our dogs and their offspring. We follow the breed standard and the code of ethics of the Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada, and perform all necessary health tests and screenings before breeding or releasing puppies to their new homes. We also socialize and train our puppies from an early age, and we provide them with a stimulating and enriching environment.

We are committed to finding the best homes for our puppies, where they will continue to be loved and cherished as members of their new family. We also offer lifetime support and guidance to our puppy owners, and we love to stay in touch and see how our puppies grow and thrive. We are proud of our dogs and their achievements, whether you take them to the show ring, the trail, or just the couch.
