4 Weeks Old: Growing, Playing, Puppy Selection, and Names?

The puppies are now four weeks old, and what a difference a each week can make!

These little Alaskan Malamute puppies are growing quickly and becoming much more active. While they still spend a good portion of their days sleeping—growing puppies need plenty of rest—they are now spending more and more time awake, interacting with each other, socializing, and discovering the world around them.

They have also started to explore the exciting transition to solid food. This is an important milestone in their development, and one that momma Ruby is looking forward to especially!

Their personalities are beginning to emerge as well. We are seeing more playful interactions, curious explorations, and the beginnings of the individual traits that will help each puppy become the unique dog they are meant to be.

We’ve just posted the newest four-week growth photos on our Current Litter page.

These photos provide another opportunity to watch the puppies grow and change. They are starting to look less like newborns and more like the beautiful, fluffy Malamutes they are becoming!

For those eagerly waiting to pick their new puppy, another important milestone has also arrived: the puppy selection process is now starting.

Families who have reserved a puppy from this litter will be contacted directly according to their position in the priority selection sequence as we move through the process. This is an exciting time for everyone involved, and we know many of you have been eagerly watching the puppies grow and thinking about which one might be the perfect fit for you and your family.

As selections are made, we’d encourage you to also start thinking of names for your new puppies. As names are provided, we will start using them so the puppies can start getting used to their new names.
